PREP 101: "Be Prepared: A Practical Guide to Surviving Local Emergencies"

The initial introductory course is referred to simply as “Preparation 101,” or PREP 101 for short. PREP 101 is designed to introduce the concept of readiness for local disasters or emergencies, highlight the importance of personal responsibility, and show how to ensure that you and your family are equipped to handle any of the three all-too-common (at least in East Texas) short-duration emergencies.

Each course builds on the presented content of the previous course and is therefore a prerequisite to participating in the successive course levels.

PREP 301: "Navigating the New Normal: Adapting to Life After a Major Catastrophic Event"

Preparation 301 was developed to assist those who feel responsible for a community of 'like-minded' people who want to prepare for sustainability in the potential event of a long-term emergency. PREP 301 is for those specifically preparing for the possibility of a completely 'new normal' without the modern conveniences of life as we currently experience. Topics such as sustainable water, food, medical support, communications, and group security are explored with classroom discussion being a significant portion of the course.

PREP 201: "Extended Crisis Management: Navigating Long-Term Disaster Scenarios"

The second-level course, referred to as Preparation 201, has been designed to pick up where PREP 101 left off and addresses specific challenges of disasters and emergencies that last longer than the initial three-day period or affect a greater geographic region. This is a more intense discussion of life-sustaining topics such as safe drinking water, food accessibility, power/energy sustainability, medical care needs, and the importance of community.
